I just want to be able to move between photos quickly and make basic edits quickly. I guess what he is testing is potentially a little more intense than my needs. He has done a ton of videos comparing different macs for photography he is good! Thanks. Enhance takes about two minutes but it will swap so I'm guessing more memory would help.Ĭheck out ArtIsRight on Youtube. Using the Mac Mini M1 with 16GB and Lightroom Classic there is almost no lag in switching between images and exporting is fast. I was told by Apple that it would be enough and it is much better than the old intel chip computers.ĭoes anyone know whether the 16GB would be slower than the 32GB when toggling between photos and zooming in to review sharpness etc? Does anyone have any first hand experience with a M1/M2 and large Raw files in Lightroom?Ĭheck out ArtIsRight on Youtube. But I want to double check I am making the right decision.

I am looking at getting the Macbook Pro 14 inch M2 with 1TB SSD and 16GB RAM on sale as it is much cheaper than customising a Macbook Pro with 32GB of RAM. Denoise takes 10 minutes per photo but I car more about being able to quickly toggle between photos and quickly edit exposure etc. There is also a lag of a few seconds for each edit on the photo. My current computer take 5-6 seconds to move between each photo which means it take a LONG time to work through my photos, especially when shooting action. I am currently using a 2017 Macbook Pro with 16GB RAM and it's very slow when moving between large RAW files in lightroom as well as exporting.
